We, the people, did not take appropriate action...
The Republican party began it’s chosen path of decline, to the Republican criminal syndicate (RCS), after the party of Lincoln decided that the traitors responsible for the insurrection, that became the Civil War, did not need to be held to account; very few investigations led to few, or no, indictments and resulted in no trials for actual treason.
In the Reagan administration the conservative, southern Democrats admitted that they were, “Reagan,” Republicans; starting, in earnest, the slide into the RCS.
When 45 was impeached for inciting insurrection (a.k.a., treason) many RCS in the US House did not vote to impeach, but 45 was impeached by the requisite majority in the House nonetheless.
The US Senate required a more significant majority (two thirds, 67 votes) to convict the impeached merde l’orange/45. Sufficient RCS Senators refused to convict the impeached President.
Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution details that anybody associated, in any way, with insurrection is forbidden from holding any public office, requiring an oath of office, ever (be it again, or in the first place).
Merde l’orange would have been removed from office immediately upon conviction, and be barred from any other office, ever again; could not campaign for another elected office, let alone President of these United States.
If all the upcoming elections were to remove all of the RCS candidates and current, public office holders from contention that would clear the way for the convict merde l’orange to be properly impeached, convicted and removed from office for emoluments clause violations, and any other crimes indicated by appropriate investigations.
This would not only return the US Congress to the only party that actually respects: oath of office; rule of law; and the US Constitution… The Democrats (and the two, Independent Senators) would be put in a position to restore Democracy in the USA.
We, the people, must rise up to the challenge of voting to restore Democracy in the USA, or we own the fall of Democracy in our nation, and the rest of the world if it follows us down the rabbit hole.
Let’s fix this problem as only we, the people, can!
