Well, How Did We Get Here?

The Insurrection of January 6, 2021 once again brings violence to the fore in the continuing, re-prosecution of the (un)Civil War...

It's been hard for some to come to grips with, “Well, how did we get here?”

White supremacists have been integral to these United States... First, the history of the Americas, the western hemisphere, has been documented as starting in 1492; in spite of massive amounts of accumulated evidence that people have resided on the entire landmass for tens of thousands of years...

Labor was provided by slaves; brought to the Americas involuntarily...

That the USA's founding fathers were enlightened, in an 18th century context, while still prone to being white supremacists; white men owning property were the only original voters, those held as slaves were counted as three fifths of a person in the original census and indigenous people did not count at all...

That for the last 50 plus years Democrats have felt a need to be nonpartisan, reaching across the aisle in a centrist (neo-liberal) way, while picking up the pieces of the economic and social messes Republicans created. (see also, the book: Bulls Bears and the Ballot Box by Bob Deitrick and Lew Goldfarb)...

Some things to keep in mind while promoting progressive (Keynesian) Democrats up and down all ballots in 2022, and beyond...

FDR (D): The New Deal and Keynesian economics, etc...

JFK (D): 1962 Speech at Rice University, FFRDCs, etc...

LBJ (D): Great Society, Medicaid, Civil and Voting Rights Acts, etc...

SCOTUS: 1973 Roe v. Wade...

Obama (D): Affordable Care Act, etc...

Biden (D): American Rescue Plan, Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, etc...

The media has been promoting a, “both sides do it,” in creating the chaos that has haunted our United States of America for, at least, the last century.

That's patently incorrect.

Conservatives, in the guise of Republicans since the Reagan administration, created problems while trying to return to the problematic, white supremacist, roots of these United States.

Democrats have picked up the messes while refusing to point out the errors, and without ever holding those, who were intentionally making those errors, in a recurring nightmarish series of events, responsible.

Elections and investigations can give us the power to correct the errors of the recent past and hold those criminally responsible to task.

Remember, this is a recurring problem, because we, who should know better, get comfortably self-satisfied and forget that those, who would do whatever it takes to serve only themselves, never go away.

Keep your eyes open, and: Vote! Vote! Vote!

Environmental Groups Must Address Both Sides of Climate Change

Can 350.org, UCS, FOE, Greenpeace, etc... walk and chew gum?

Fossil fuels are, and always have been, key to the Industrial and the Information Ages. We aren't anywhere near being able to provide renewable energy to power the world we live in, so (like it or, preferably, not) fossil fuel production continues!

We must be able to provide the HVAC we are all accustom to, light for buildings, streets, etc... Then we must add all the renewable energy and infrastructure needed to power transportation...

That's an extremely tall, almost unbelievably so, order that we aren't, yet, taking seriously.

I started a company to take transportation over half way to reducing fuel consumption, and associated tailpipe emissions. It isn't being done by the established transportation industry players, because there are wealthy and powerful influences against anything that reduces hydrocarbon profits.

I recently testified about the aforementioned transportation issues to both the EPA and USDOT, but that, too, is an attempt to register a tortoise for a marathon.

It is well past time that 350.org, and all the other responsible environmental boosters, worked both sides of the problem. We owe that to the future generations from whom we lease the Earth.

Bill Maher Jumps the Shark

Bill Maher is a Qpublican talking point, and misleading his audience (of which I am still one) in a number of ways:

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment is real and applicable;

Real investigations take a frustratingly long time, especially when it involves thousands of people and incredibly, enormous quantities of evidence;

Government is flawed because it is done by people. Our government has been hampered by decades of, “trying to shrink government till it can be drowned in a bathtub,” and, “Supply Side economics,” promoted by Republicans/Qpublicans (after January 6th 2021) and Neo-liberal (confused) Democrats;

The vast majority of things you depend upon everyday are here because of government: roads, bridges, airports, seaports, public education, Post Office, electricity (Rural Electrification Act, etc...), technology (Federally Funded Research and Development Centers), etc;

Don't want to live in an authoritarian, dictatorship you have to vote and for only one (Democrat), of two (find an independent party with a governing presence, anywhere in these United States), political parties;

Find out what medical research believes was the actual count of the dead, the real consequence, of Covid;

What masks and isolation did for the Flu;

If Bill's prediction for the midterm elections are correct he can look in the mirror, as a part of the, “conservative media,” for the reason.
